I was born in Manhattan, but raised in Westport, Connecticut for the majority of my life. From the ripe age of 10, I began to play the violin and continued to excel with it for 8 years, stopping only after I arrived to college, last year. I’m a sophomore the New School University, in downtown Manhattan and I’m a Literary Studies/Writing major, with a focus in writing. Even though I stopped playing the violin, (sadly) I’ve picked up the guitar in the past year, and I also am hoping to get involved with the DJ industry. My love for music has been evident since my early years, but since coming to the city and being exposed to so much incredible music, my passion and fondness for finding all sorts of new music, and sharing it, has grown significantly. I find myself constantly working to keep up with the newest music and music trends, and studying what it is that makes people enjoy it. There’s nothing that seems more appropriate to me than writing about what I love, because I feel that is the only way to show others how much music means to me. My current taste is the most eclectic it’s ever been. A couple of my favorite artists include Andrew Bird, Florence and the Machine, Janelle Monae and Gogol Bordello…but I’m a huge electronica nerd at heart.
